Bits of Code

a dev blog

I've had a fun time doing some pull requests for Hacktoberfest! I decided to write a full blog post on my professional blog that I've started for my career/resume, but also wanted to jot it down here since I have way too many domains as per usual. I've learned more about Git/Github with mistakes and updating local forks than ever before, since I've not worked on a group project with another person since a year ago. Good stuff 🙌

LiveCoders on Twitch

I'm getting encouraged again by watching a bunch of web developer live streamers on Twitch. I think when I'm ready to stream again, I'll focus on coding and learning on stream. It'll make me very nervous, but I want the challenge and I want to show myself that I can get over this imposter syndrome.

MPJ and Funfunfunction

I love MPJ because he talks about coding but also career concerns, anxiety, life pressure and has great collabs with other devs: Funfunfunction

Learning React.js

originally posted on my regular blog

In the web development world, I need to tackle the beast that is named React. I feel like I’ve been severely limiting my resume and career potential because I’ve avoided really digging my claws into this. What am I afraid of? Nothing.

When I go back to streaming and discord I’d like to have some group sessions to learn with everyone as a community. My mentor (thanks PS!) recommended this course on Udemy:

React – The Complete Guide (incl Hooks, React Router, Redux)

It’s usually about $12 USD on sale, so if you grab a copy, let me know on Twitter or Mastodon 🙌

Testing out my Chevereto install!

A dev blog

Thanks to for this instance on writefreely! I wanted a quick space to jot down some notes on my developer journey that was not on my normal blog (that has various items on it), so I'll see how this goes. It feels good to just write and not worry about all the other details.
